The mains voltage on Curaçao is 110-130 Volt / 50 Hz. In the Netherlands this is 230 Volt / 50 Hz.
It is not possible to connect all Dutch devices in Curacao because the voltage is different. This is normally not a problem for a telephone or laptop.
Because the voltage in Curacao is lower than in the Netherlands, most devices do not work properly. A hair dryer runs half as slow, and some electronics such as a computer (PC) can break. Laptops are no problem.

The European plugs do not fit in the socket of Curacao, you must use a travel plug here:
However, in many hotels and apartments there are European sockets available, so it is best to contact the hotel or apartment to ask which socket you have.
Power outage in Curacao
Power outages can sometimes occur in Curacao. There they have to deal with too low a capacity of the power plant, sometimes turning off entire neighborhoods in order to reduce the power load. They alternate the neighborhoods every few hours.
In the event of a power failure, it is always recommended to keep the refrigerator and freezer closed as much as possible so that it remains cool. It is also wise to keep the windows and doors closed, so that the cold air from the air conditioner remains inside.
